Sonoma Housing Complex (Phase 1)

Design Start: August 15, 2022

Construction Completion: TBD

Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico

Project Type: Commercial

Project Description:

The Sonoma Housing Complex is a multi-phase, mixed-use development situated on a 7-acre site along Sonoma Ranch Blvd. in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The master plan envisions the construction of 72 apartment units, including both 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom options, as well as two commercial shell buildings for retail, business, or assembly uses.

Phase 1 Overview: The first phase of the project focuses on the design and construction of four apartment buildings and one administration office. The administration office includes office spaces, a conference room, a lobby, a reception area, and gang restrooms with shower facilities. The exterior of this building features a small gathering area for residents, complete with a pool, hot tub, and outdoor grill.

Residential Buildings: Phase 1 includes four two-story apartment buildings. Each apartment unit is designed with a living area, kitchen, storage space, restrooms, and a private outdoor balcony or backyard. The building facades blend traditional pueblo-style elements with modern touches, including slanted steel columns and corrugated metal wall panel accents.

Site Design: The complex is situated adjacent to an existing arroyo and Doña Ana Community College. The site design incorporates multiple finish floor elevations to adapt to the natural changes in grade across the property.

The Sonoma Housing Complex combines functional living spaces with modern aesthetics and community-focused amenities, enhancing the area’s residential and commercial offerings.
