Northrise Shell Building

Design Start: May 18, 2021

Construction Completion: September 1, 2024

Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico

Project Type: Commercial

Project Description:

The Northrise Shell Building is a 9,582 square-foot grey shell structure designed to offer flexible leasing options for up to five spaces suitable for retail, assembly, or business uses.

Design Concept: A distinctive feature of the design is a circular entry at one of the lease spaces, clad in stone and inspired by traditional native kiva structures. This element adds a unique and culturally resonant touch to the building’s facade. To the east of this entry, a steel shade structure is included, intended to provide ample shading for a potential outdoor dining area, making it ideal for restaurant tenants.

Exterior and Site Design: The building’s exterior color palette complements the natural hues of the surrounding desert landscape and the adjacent arroyo, blending seamlessly into its environment. The site design includes parking areas located both in front of and behind the building, ensuring convenient access for tenants and visitors. Additionally, a ponding area is incorporated into the site plan to manage storm-water retention effectively.

The Northrise Shell Building combines aesthetic appeal with practical design, creating a versatile space that integrates well with its natural surroundings and offers functional solutions for various commercial uses.
